Cookies: cookie policy

Information about cookies

Following the amendment to the Law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSICE) introduced by Royal Decree 13/2012, websites using non-essential cookies must obtain the user’s express consent before the user browses them.

What are cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies, such as local shared objects, Flash cookies and pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about visitors and to ensure the website functions correctly.

These devices allow a web server to remember information about a user, such as preferences for displaying pages, username and password, and products of particular interest.

Cookies covered by the rules and exempt cookies

Under the EU directive, analytics, advertising and affiliate cookies require the user’s informed consent. Technical cookies and those necessary for the website to operate or provide services expressly requested by the user are exempt.

What types of cookies are there?

There are five main groups:

  • Analytics cookies: collect information about how the website is used.
  • Social cookies: required for external social networks.
  • Affiliate cookies: track visits from other websites with which the website has an affiliate agreement.
  • Advertising and behavioural cookies: collect information about users’ personal preferences and choices (retargeting).
  • Technical and functional cookies: strictly necessary to use the website and provide the contracted service.

Cookies used on this website

List the cookies’ names, types, owners, functions and expiry dates, for example:
